The circuit in the diagram is a very handy tool for rapidly checking all kinds of thyristor (SCR, triac, …). In case of a triac, all four quadrants are tested, which is done with S3, while in case of a standard thyristor, a positive power supply and trigger current need to be set, which is done with S1. The value of resistors R1 and R2 is chosen to obtain a current of about 28 mA, which is more than sufficient for most thyristors. The hold current is determined by R3, and is 125 mA, which is more than adequate to keep the thyristor in conduction after it has been triggered. Since D1 is a red, low-current LED, and D2 a green, low-current LED, it can be seen in a wink in which quadrant the thyristor conducts.
Testing is started with S2, and the circuit is reset with S4 after the test has been concluded. Three short lengths of circuit wire terminated into insulated crocodile clips on connector K1 will be found very convenient for linking any kind of thyristor to the circuit. Mind correct connections, though: in the case of a triac, MT1/A1 is linked to earth, the gate to S2 and MT2/A2 to R3; in the case of a standard thyristor, the anode is linked to R3, the cathode to earth, and the gate to S2. If, in a rare case the trigger current needs to be altered, this can be done by changing the value of resistors R1–R3 as appropriate. The trigger current may also be made variable by the use of a variable power supply. If that is done, make sure that the dissipation in the resistors is not exceeded.

Voltage Rating Tester for Zener Diode Circuit Diagram
Notes:
Using a single 555 Timer IC and a small transformer to generate a high voltage, this circuit will test zener diodes of voltage ratings up to 50VDC. The 555 timer is used in the astable mode, the output at pin3 drives a small audio transformer such as the LT700. This has a primary impedance of 1K and a secondary impedance of 8 ohms. Used in reverse the unloaded ac voltage is around 120volts ac. This is rectified by the 1N4004 diode and smoothed by the 2.2u capacitor which MUST be rated at 150 VDC. The zener under test is measured with a multimeter set to DC volts as shown. The load current switch enables the zener to be tested at 1 or 2mA DC. The rectified DC load, but a good zener should maintain the reading on the volt meter.

Description.
This circuit can be used to test whether mains voltage is present or not without having electric contact with mains line. The CMOS IC CD4033 is the heart of this circuit. The CD4033 consists of a 5 stage decade Johnson counter and an output decoder for converting the Johnson code to a 7 segment decoded output for driving 7 segment LED display. A 10cm long insulated copper wire connected to the clock pin (pin1) of the IC serves as the sensor. The sensor wire has to be placed in the vicinity of the mains wire to be tested. When there is no voltage in the mains line, no voltage will be induced in the sensor wire and the display will show a random digit. When there is voltage in the mains line, a small voltage will be induced in the sensor wire due to electromagnetic induction and this voltage is sufficient enough to clock the CMOS IC CD4033. Now the display will count from zero to nine and repeat.

Notes.
- The circuit can be assembled on a Vero board.
- Use 9V PP3 battery for powering the circuit.
- Use a 10cm insulated wire as the sensor.
- The IC must be mounted on a holder.
- Switch S1 can be a miniature ON/OFF switch.

If you had a digital alcohol breath tester on hand after you had a few drinks you could have easily and conveniently measured your blood alcohol content to be certain it was safe and legal for you to get behind the wheel. You are really taking a gamble on those occasions when you think youre okay to drive but yoere not certain if youre under the legal blood alcohol content. Here I will show the dual lcd display digital alcohol breath tester with audible alert white.
There is no doubted that this alcohol breath tester is compact enough for you to carry in your pocket all the time. About 13,000 people a year are killed on our roads in drink-drive incidents, so we must continue to be vigilant in our efforts to prevent drunk driving. Breath analysis is the most common method of testing for blood-alcohol content in use today, it can ensure the safety of yourself and others! Nobody wants a DUI conviction or its consequences - you risk a night in jail, thousands of dollars in fines and legal fees, the embarassing publication after a trial. You had better not drive if you are not sure, just play it safe and call a cab - the cheapest alternative.
Features
* Backlight LCD display
* Replaceable sensor module
* Dual LCD screen breathalyzer
* Quick response and resume
* Auto power off
* Temperature display in ℃ or °F
* Digital alcohol Breath Tester with audible alert

The circuit is very effective to test the remote controls what still works or not, the remote record will be tested using infra red. Examples of the TV remote, AC and others. Please try I am sure 100% will be successful.

| TV Remote Tester Circuit |
The workings of the circuit is very simple, when the infra red sensor receive infrared signals pin 2 sensor will produce a voltage, this voltage will drives the PNP transistor so that the LED lamp and piezo disc (BZ) is active. for the power supply you can use a 9 volt battery and then use IC 7805 or use 1.5 volt batteries x 3
Following the specification of components installed
Transistor BC557
TSOP 1738 Sensor Infra Red
R1 = 10k ohm ¼ watt Resistor
R2 = 1k ohm ¼ watt Resistor
R3 = 1k ohm ¼ watt Resistor
BZ = piezo disc
